Hi, I buy lots of shoes and boots from the web. USA size 12, UK 10, and European size 44. I have just ordered boots from Nordstrom and Silhouette from the web. I was in L.A. a few years back and I remember a department store doing fab footwear in large ladies sizes. It may have been Nordstrom but I am not too sure. Does anyone know of department stores or shoe shops not listed on Joerg site that do large sized ladies shoes?

Try to be a female, 7 to 8 inches taller than the average male, and you will know what it is like to be in Mexico... I am rather average shoe size (9 1/2 to 10) in the US, but in Mexico... it was a nightmare... I had to look for imported shoes because the regular makers only carry 8 1/2 to 9... and buying clothes is soooo hard, specially when you have extra long legs... I really am not exaggerating when I say that it was miserable!!!

hi everyone, especially SimplyLovely and Lilyanne. Lilyanne I agree Joerg's site is great. On a recent trip to New York I found myself in heaven (shoe heaven that is) I had gone to the Tall Girl Shop off Fifth Ave (info courtesy of Joerg's site) and they told me about a shoe shop only 4 doors away. Claro shoes. I took the opportunity to buy lots - I take a size 9 (UK) 43 (european) and size 12 (US). So Lilyanne I think a size 10 UK would be a 13 (US), While I was there a girl was in looking for a narrow shoe. She was out of luck that day but has gotten them there before. Apparently they do sometimes have some shoes in a narrow fitting SimplyLovely so you could check out their website. Take care tallandloveit

Hi There is a great website called www.tallwomen.org - Joerg's Website for Tall Women It lists itself as the ultimate online resource for tall women, tall female teenagers and tall girls plenty of tall clothes and shoe links. The website has listed all the shops in London and around Europe that do bigger sizes in ladies &men's shoes as well as shops that cater for taller women & men. I have ordered fab shoes and boots from Swedish,Italian, French & German footwear sites listed on Joerg's site and the quality, style and service is excellent. However, I tend not to use the USA sites because living in the UK the import tax makes it quite expensive and sites like ZAPPOS will not ship to addresses outside of USA. There is also a lot of different interpretations of the sizes from Europe , UK and USA. My understanding is that a UK 10 is European 44, and an American 12 (though I am not quite so sure that I am right about the American 12). However, it would be great if the shoes industry could get their act together and have uniform sizes as different sites quote different interpretations. I am all for the sharing of useful information for tall people and discussion of some of the issues that effect all of us tall people. Whilst I am not seeking a partner I enjoy the blogs and chatting with some of the other members. It is after all just another means of communicating. Anyone know of any other shoe sites not listed on Joerg's site I would love to know as I am a bit of an Imelda Marcos when it comes to footwear. I have no business interests or links to anyone in the industry so I do not have any hidden agenda other than to share useful information should anyone be struggling to find stylish clothes and footwear. As a teenager I was wearing shoes far too small for me because back then I could only get size 8 when I should have been wearing a 9 or 10.I can still recall how blooming uncomfortable that was!! Thankfully these days I am spoilt for choice because of living near London and access to great websites.

I wear a size 13 shoe, (I'm 6'3) so finding shoes is a tad difficult. I always shop at Avenue...either in person when I can get back to Chicago, or online when I can't. They have great shoes up to size 13, and they're very comfortable. I spend more than I should, but less than I'd like on shoes every year, probably between $150-$200. I don't bother going into most shoe stores. Why should I? Their shoes won't fit me, and I'll be all filled up with shoe-lust with no way to satisfy! :P Melisa

Oh Big Martina.... you sweet sexy wo-man. I'll bet your Entertainment act is all the rage in the UK. When you bring your act to the states, you'll have to let me know!!! Martina, I'd love to invite you to one of our girls only weekends. We rent a couple adjoining rooms at a nice hotel and bring our favorite indulgence (mostly desserts). After a dip in the pool or hot tub, then it's time for food, drinks and dishing on any guy..er..girl that you want. During this time we always hire someone to give us some pampering such as massages or pedicures. And you'll have our full attention for your beauty tips and your opinion on nail color. For our evening out to dinner and to a swanky club, no worries, we'll find you some sexy shoes to fit your gorgeous size 13 feet. Also, we can help you with the hairy leg problem, after several times of leg waxing the hair will grow in much softer and less noticeable. I almost forgot... bring along the membership forms to "Society For The Appreciation Of Plastic Fruit", you'll find many women at our local flea markets lining up to join. p.s. BigMart, thanks for the fun, it's great having you around!

Wow, SimplyLovely, I seem to have hit a nerve. I think if you re-read my message you will find there were no assumptions made of your shoe issues, no intended 'hurtful' or 'malicious' undertones, no 'pettiness', merely an offer of support to Isabel after insinuations were made that her message might have been a 'sales pitch', where I felt she was only trying to gather some information from a captive audience, some of which might share a common problem. A situation my sister has recently been in with her company TallByDesign. My comment that some of us do have problems buyng shoes was not excluding anyone - if you have trouble buying shoes whether it is a length or width issue, then you are included in this group. I apologise if anyone was offended by my brief message!

Well, my inner female (I like to call her Martina) is a lovely girl but with a slightly deeper voice and hairier legs than your average real woman. I would suspect Martina would have basically the same problem as me in that I wear a size 13 (UK) shoe, but very much like Simply, my height means there is more of me bearing down on my feet, resulting in a wider footprint. So I...er she....Martina that is...can only go for the right size if it is a wide fitting. Otherwise I have to wear a size 14 to get the width - and this means a very sloppy fit. Martina comes to you courtesy of BigMart Entertainment and is available for weddngs, birthdays and bar mitzvahs and her set includes little knows hits from the world of tall people like "She hit me like a door frame and now I'm concussed", "My head bruises easily" and the slightly more popular "You're my kind of girl, can you stand on a box please?". Martina is single, likes rollerskating and horseriding, is the National Chairwoman for the Society For The Appreciation Of Plastic Fruit and likes men who aren't afraid to cry. ;0)

Speaking of tall me, that like to dress in drag, I go to two singles dances, atound here, and twice, there was a very tall lady, that walked in. After, seeing several shorter guys dance with her, I went, and asked. It is a little dark, there, and, I did not know for a few seconds, that I was not dancing with a regular lady. Another dance, later, and, there was another very tall gal, there, but, this time, I just said hi, and did not ask. As far as large, long men's shoes, I found out, through a lady, less than 5', who has to buy extra small shoes!! She led me to the same place she has to get tiny shoes!! Nordstrom Rack! I could not believe all the over 13's they had. Sometimes a thrift store will have a rare size 14, or 15, but the Rack shocked me! Walmart, and Payless shoes have a few 14's I bought a pair of 15 wides, because I have awfully wide feet. I don't know about those high heels for guys! 2tallgary

I'm 5'10" but my sister-in-law is 6'3" and she has no trouble finding nice clothes from LongElegantLegs. She also makes some of her clothes. I really love her--she's a very sweet person and am very glad she is part of our family! Imfiveten

Principesa (Phillipa or whatever you decide your ID will be) only because of your remark am I making this reply. I wouldn't have made any comment at all to Isabel2006 if it weren't my desire to comment to mad1995 with his great humor that he brings to any topic... very refreshing, thanks mad! Other than a tall site, Isabel2006 will have luck with research for 10+ size shoes by asking many average height large framed women her questions and as I mentioned my sister would fit in that category. As to your assumption that I don't have problems with my size for shoes, you're wrong. Since you so smartly brought up shoe shopping problems, here's mine... my feet measure 8 1/2, but because my foot width is slightly larger than a B, and not close to a C, then I usually buy a 9B as any 8 1/2C is too big. The width precludes me from certain styles, but that's my problem and I deal with it. I truly hope this makes you feel much better knowing that I, having smaller than a size 10 shoe and still being 5'10", have problems as well. It may not be the same as your shoe buying problem, but who doesn't have problems or isn't precluded from certain styles because of their size? There's enough struggles being tall, and my height is the commonality for me being on this TallFriends website. I don't need to hear your pettiness because I don't fit into the "average" size for tall women. This blog has evolved now to clothing from the initial request for size 10+ women's shoes. So, lighten up about blog comments, as there wasn't anything malicious or hurtful to this blog, only a little humor and my sidebar to explain that I wouldn't be of help in Isabels research. Still it would've been fun to hear from BigMart about his inner female with a reply to mad.

Hi! I know of two tall catalogs that have nice clothing. One of them is located just 3 miles from my home (a very dangerous shopping excursion for me-ha!). You can find them online by adding the usual ending to them. They are: TallEtc and Long Elegant Legs. I like them both. Let me know what you all think of their clothing line. Maybe we'll all be dressing the same in the near future! Lol! Have fun. Imfiveten

VegasLegzzz, you might try tallgirlshop. They have a website. They have pants with inseams from 34" to 37" depending on the style and have younger looks, including juniors. Good luck. P.S. zappos website has tons of size 11 shoes and allows you to shop by size so you don't have to look at all the cute ones that aren't big enough. Happy hunting.

Hey, for y'all looking for tall clothing, try LongElegantLegs.com and TallEtc.com. The talletc store is less than 3 miles from my house...a most dangerous place for me to visit! Lol! Also try putting in your google browser "tall women's clothing" and you'll get a nice variety of stores to choose from. Happy shopping! Imfiveten
